Wayne B. Hickory, D.M.D. M.D.S.

Dr. Hickory is a graduate of Trinity College (B.S.) Connecticut. He earned a masters degree (M.S.) in nutritional science at Boston University, School of Graduate Dentistry. For the next seven years, Dr. Hickory was at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, completing the doctorate of dental medicine (D.M.D.) and the three-year postdoctoral program in orthodontics (Certificate) and masters of dental science (M.D.S.).

Originally in a career in orthodontic research and teaching, Dr. Hickory was a full-time faculty member of the Orthodontics department at the University of Amsterdam in Holland and the University of Maryland. Dr. Hickory has twenty years of experience in orthodontic practice and continues to consult in orthodontic practices and teach orthodontic courses in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He is a member of Align Technologies Alpha Group and Speakers Bureau.

Special Interests

Dr. Hickory has a special interest in giving orthodontic courses internationally and in hosting doctors from Europe and Asia for advanced courses.

The recent restoration of the 100-year-old building that houses the practice at R Street has provided a creative outlet. In his free time, Dr. Hickory enjoys swimming, tennis and travel.

When you visit the DC office, ask to meet his yellow lab, Nona, and see her lap pool on the lower level.

Our staff is dedicated to patient comfort. Utilization of the latest technology has minimized our hands-on involvement with your teeth. Gentle personalized care is the prime focus of our staff. Several of our staff are receiving orthodontic treatment themselves, heightening their awareness for patient concerns. Our friendly staff is here to make your visit pleasurable, to keep you informed, and to facilitate your care.
